I was not fan of make up before I move to Finland. In Mozambique I always opted to use a simple make up: mascara, eye shadows and lipstick. Once I tried my mum's make up and after sometime I was melting, too hot for that. Maybe I should have a special one for the weather but at that time we didn't have even my mum she was just using a simple make up daily and when she was going out in the evening or to parties then she makes a complete make up.
Many of my friends use make up here in Finland and I started to get interested about it, once I tried and I loved to see how different I was looking. From time to time I was using my friend's make up and after some time I decided to buy my own, ops, where to find a make up to a chocolate color here in Finland, it was nearly impossible at that time (2008). Luckily there are some African shops in an area called 'Hakaniemmi', from there I could buy a make up suited for my color :)
After some time I saw myself using make up everyday. Have to confess that in the very beginning I was removing the make up only with those wet towels (make up removers) but I didn't have any facial soap and face cream to take a better care before and after the make up and I have been doing that for long time until I had a conversation with my sister. I have changed all my habits since that. I have started to use the products from Clinique to take care of my face. I washed my face every morning with the soap (suitable to my skin type) + the tonic and the moisturizer.
I felt it in my first step, ooh what a feeling, was feeling so good that I didn't want to use make up. I started to make only the daily treatment and avoiding the daily make up. My skin has changed a lot since I started to take a good care of it.
I have used bio-oil for many years when I was living in Mozambique but when I moved to Finland I could't find it in the shops and I started to use normal body lotion. Well, my skin is very sensitive and I always had to take care of it because of my allergy problems. normally in winter time my skin gets too dry and starts to crack, it feels terrible. Even I put a lot of moisturizer in that area it doesn't help, it lasts for the all winter. Once I was in Mozambique and I show my skin to my sister (what would be my life without you?). For the beginning she said me to use her kids body lotion which is really creamy, I could feel the skin getting better. After this we traveled to South Africa and she said to me: lets go to the pharmacy (Mophany) they have there the products I use to take care of my skin. It was Clarins. We ask about something for dry skin and I showed to the lady how my skin was in my dry elbows. She recommended Moisture-Rich Body Lotion which was amazing to my skin. I got better quickly. Have been using the same for one year just to avoid the dry skin problems again but I am planning now to use the firming cream as I feel my skin so good.
I am satisfied about the Clarins and the results I have reached using it. After some time I decided to try the Clarins facial care and I am loving it. My skin is smoother now, maybe the Clarins suits better to my skin. They are bit expensive but the result is great and its a kind of thing that fortunately we don't need to by every day/month. Sometimes it lasts 2 months or even more which is good.
But all those products has their own proprieties, so it is important to find a good one to your skin type. I am at the moment in Spain for two months, before come here I was in Dakar and my luggage didn't arrive in time, the first thing that came to my mind was my body and facial care products that are in the luggage once they don't allow you to take them to the plane. Luckily I had a body lotion at home but not the facial care. That was awful, I have been using the body lotion also to my face for many weeks. After spending a lot in my business trip to Dakar I couldn't buy my facial care products and that's something I have to make a plan to once they are not cheap and I need at least three of them. As I couldn't buy them all at the moment I decided to use the body lotion also to my face. It hasn't been so bad. During this time here in Spain I started to have some irritation between the ring and middle finger and also between the middle and the forefinger. I was suppose to go to pharmacy or to the Doctor but I didn't. Well, after two weeks I still had the irritation, it was getting darker and after scratch it turns to white. During this time I bought a new body lotion as the clarins finished. I was looking for something good and cheap and I found a cream oil which contains argan, you can't imagine what happen in the first day I used it. The allergy started to get better (hey, in he first day). The body lotion was only 5,95 euros. That's why I said its good to find a cream that is suitable to your skin type!!!

My ID
Love fashion and love to see the new creation and styles that the designers create day by day. I live in Finlad and in the very beginning it was a little bit difficult to identify myself in clothing. In Mozambique (my home country) some years ago we had a huge influence from Brasil, I am talking about the clothes from Brasil. Well, Mozambique is a tropical country as well and the Brasilian clothes suit really well there.
When I moved to Finland I had a lot of mini clothes and short blouses that I couldn't even take all with me. Well, something that a friend of mine told me was that I shoud take all the clothes I want because indoors I wont feel cold as the houses, shopping malls etc are well heated in Finland. I couldnt imagine how well heated they are, still amazed about it till today. I am at the moment in an internship in Spain and the indoors here ooh God, coooold !!!
It was good that I took some of my clothes with me to Finland because I could wear them with tights.Wow, I started to wear tights and I like it because I could choose the color I wanted or at least those that suit to me but still it was bit difficult to identify my new style.
In the course of time I started to identify what I like to wear and to create my own ID mixing my old clothes with the new ones. I love my new identification, still buying a lot when I go to my home country and also in South Africa from where the Mozambicans use to buy a lot. Its easier to get there (South Africa is one of the countries boarding Mozambique).
The funniest thing for me is that when I am in Mozambique some people love my clothes (from Finland) and here in Finland they like the clothes from there and I always try to mix the two styles. What really identifies me is always have something different that I use to say in Portuguese 'é a minha cara' = is my swag! I think everybody has this identification style that makes us different as nodoby can really look alike the other as we are all different even we dress the same clothes we wont never look like the same person.
If you still don't have your own style look for it, I think is a way of knowing yourself, its like a perfum, the perfumes you like they tell a lot about you! People can know a little bit about you by the perfum you like.
If John Bull turns around to look at you, you are not well dressed; but either too stiff, too tight, or too fashionable."
